Mrs. Remington's 5th Grade class spent time disecting "Owl Pellets."  That's right, our students sorted through the regurgitated remains of an owl's meal which usually consists of mice and other rodents.  The kids had a great time pulling out the various bones of the dead animals to compare to the rodent chart.  They could actually piece together the skeletale remains of some animals.

Annual Bunny Hop

Fisher Grade School held its annual Bunny Hop on May 17th.  We had a great weather day to enjoy a walk at the Lake of the Woods Park in Mahomet.  Students collected donations for the school totalling just over $7,000.  This money will be used to buy computer lab chairs, fund assemblies and Good News Note prizes!  Thanks to the entire community for supporting our Annual Bunny Hop!

Family Reading Night Winner!

In November our Library sponsors a Family Reading Night, which encourages all students and their family members to turn off the TV and to spend time reading a good book instead.  All students who participated got their names put into a drawing for "Lunch with the Principal."  Natalie Moore was the winner, so she and her friend, Carly Bilek, went to Steak-n-Shake with Mr. Moxley.  They all enjoyed some burgers, …

Veterans Day Program

On Friday, November 11th, Fisher Grade School held its 16th Annual Veterans’ Day Program.  A large crowd was on hand to participate in this prideful ceremony. 


Each year, the program has two main purposes, first to educate our students on the freedoms that we enjoy in this great country and second to bring honor to those who have helped us secure those freedoms…our veterans!

Mr. Moxley can be seen these days giving students a ride on his Principal's Chair.  This was one of the special prizes available to students who met sales goals for our annual P.I.E. Fundraising campaign.  Students have enjoyed the speedy ride from the cafeteria, down the halls on their way out to recess.

Fisher Schools Announces Box Top Program Earnings for 2015

Fisher, Illinois – For many years, Fisher Schools have teamed up with General Mills and their Box Tops for Education program to earn additional money used to supplement learning in our district. The program was launched in 1996 and has slowly expanded to include hundreds of brands of products on which consumers can find box tops to clip. Fisher Grade School would like to thank the Fisher AmVets Post #52 for their continued support.  The AmVets annually supply us with new flags so that we are always showing proper respect to our flag and country.  AmVets will take your old or worn out flags and dispose of them properly as in accordance with "Flag Etiquette" guidlines.
